Who should enroll

This course is designed for members of the public who frequently interact with young people aged 12 to 24. It is relevant for anyone keen on recognizing and addressing mental health challenges in the early stages or providing support to those with a history of mental illness. for example, parents and guardians, secondary and post secondary school staff, coaches, and youth workers. 

TRAINING OUTCOMES

  • Increased Confidence: Develop confidence in responding to youth experiencing mental health challenges.

  • Sign Recognition: Acquire the ability to identify signs of mental well-being decline or a mental health/substance use crisis in young individuals.

  • Effective Conversations: Learn to engage in conversations that encourage young people to open up about their mental well-being and discuss professional supports for recovery.

  • Crisis Assistance: Be equipped to provide assistance in mental health or substance use crisis situations.

  • Self-awareness and Action: Develop the capacity to check in with your own mental well-being and take proactive measures as needed.
